CLASSES

 

  • GENERAL INFO

I teach classes in-person and online. The in-person classes and are taught individually or in a small groups of maximum 4 people, to ensure that you have enough space to work and also my full attention. Online classes are taught in groups of maximum 8-10 people.

 

  • LOCATION

The in-person classes are taught in my home kitchen located in NW3 London, between Hampstead and Finchley road. Both Jubilee and Northern lines are at short walking distance, as well as Finchley Road and Frognal overground station. I will provide the full address upon booking confirmation. Online classes are taught via Zoom.

 

  • PRIVATE CLASSES & CORPORATE EVENTS

I can tailor my classes according to your specific needs. If you are looking to organise a family event, a hen party, a special gift to a friend or a team-building experience, please don’t hesitate to get in touch to discuss the options.

 

  • CLASSES LANGUAGE & DURATION

Classes are generally taught in English, but for one-to-one tutoring or private events, I’m available to teach in Spanish, Portuguese or Italian. The duration of each class is approximately 3 hours. This means that the class can run slightly overtime or last a bit less, depending on the speed of each group.

 

  • HOW THE CLASSES WORK

During the in-person classes you will be working in pairs. Each couple will execute a full recipe that will be baked in two small tins,  so that each one can bring home what it’s been baking on the day. At the end of each class, I will email you the recipes made in class, with all the ingredients and step by step instructions.

  • ONE-TO-ONE TUTORING

If you prefer to have my full attention, I can teach one-to-one classes as well. Please write me an email and I will tailor the perfect baking experience for you. Private classes can focus on a wide range of products, from sweet to savoury baking, from layer cakes to decorated biscuits and much more: just ask!

       

  • FOOD ALLERGIES

If you have any food allergy, please contact me before booking a class.

 

  • DO I NEED TO HAVE PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE TO ATTEND YOUR CLASSES?

No, you don’t! You definitely don’t need to have previous baking experience to book one my classes, you just need enthusiasm and passion. I’ll guide through the process step by step and you will be surprised of what you can achieve! People with previous baking experience, on the other hand, will have the chance to perfect their skills and have useful tips to take their baking to the next level.

 

  • DO I NEED TO HAVE A STAND MIXER AT HOME TO MAKE WHAT I’VE LEARNED IN THE CLASS?

No, you don’t! A stand mixer can make your baking life easier, but you will be taught to execute every recipe using a hand-held mixer so that you can easily make it at home.

       

 

                                                                       ON THE DAY

 

  • WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

Just bring a pen and paper to take your notes and a hair tie if you have long hair. I will supply all the equipment you need for the class, an apron to borrow and the recipe cards of what we will be baking on the day. More, you will take home what you’ve baked in the class, to share and enjoy with friends and family!

 

  • LATENESS AND NO SHOW

Please be punctual for the class, so to make the most out of it. If you are late, though, you will be joining the class at the stage it is when you arrive. Please, also bear in mind that if you don’t show up without any previous notice, you are not entitled to a replacement class.

 

      

 

             BOOKING & CANCELLATION POLICY

 

  • HOW DO I BOOK A CLASS?

Please choose a class either from the calendar on the home page or from the “Baking Classes” page. Select the day and quantity and proceed with the payment.

 

  • CAN I CANCEL A CLASS I’VE ALREADY BOOKED?

If for any reasons you are unable to attend a class you’ve booked, you can cancel the booking by writing an email at info@thesweetbit.com. I will try to accommodate you in the next available spot for the same class.

 

  • CAN I TRANSFER A CLASS TO ANOTHER PERSON?

Please contact me and I’ll do my best to accommodate your transfer request.

  • CAN I OFFER A BAKING CLASS AS A GIFT?

Of course, you can! Trust me, this will be a much-appreciated gift. Please drop me an email and we will arrange everything together. The person you bought the gift card for has 12 months time to choose the class she/he likes and redeem the voucher.
